The #empl-oi final conference “Business and University cooperation: fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in higher education” took place on June 27th, 2018 in Microsoft Innovation Center in Brussels.
The event was an opportunity to discuss how to intensify university-business cooperation, share innovative entrepreneurial material and present a unique placement scheme aimed to improve practical and transversal skills therefore fostering graduates’ employability.
HEIs have a responsibility towards their students in terms of their future in their professional life, however the skills gap and mismatch existing between the labour market needs and university curricula cannot be addressed by universities alone. Business-university cooperation is therefore the key to that.
This conference offered a combination of presentations and panel discussions. Professionals, experts, academics, students, and policy makers from different fields shared their visions, experience, good practices regarding employability, modern teaching methods and development of entrepreneurial skills.
The main target audience of the event were university teaching and administrative staff; entrepreneurs, policy makers, experts from the field of education and entrepreneurship, as well as business partners. The event was also the place for excellent cooperation and networking among participants, allowing them to showcase their ideas and experience.
